The new year brings us a phenomenal group that only the heartiest of you had the pleasure of hearing in March of 2009. Seraphic Fire, Miami-based chamber choir, returns on Friday, January 21st. A major snowstorm kept many concertgoers home when Seraphic Fire last performed for Civic Music. An overwhelming majority of those determined souls who plowed through the snow requested that the group return. Seraphic Fire garners rave reviews wherever they perform. From Warren Gerds on that snowy evening–“a sumptuous concert”!
The Seraphic Fire performance is co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association (WCDA) and Brown County Civic Music. The WCDA is a professional association of choral directors of K-12, university, church, and community choirs. WCDA is holding its annual convention in Green Bay, Jan. 20-22. Seraphic Fire is the headliner choir of the convention. In addition to the WCDA convention attendees, the Civic Music audience will also be joined by 350 middle and high school singers from across the state who have been selected for the WCDA All-State Men’s and Women’s High School Choirs and the All-State Middle Level Choir.
Music to be performed includes classical & contemporary, sacred & secular–and some spirited renditions of gospel favorites!
Tickets ($25 for adults, $10 for students) are available at the door and online.
