The Brown County Civic Music Association will hold a 90th Anniversary celebration which will take place in conjunction with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concert on April 29, 2017. The anniversary planning committee is working on special plans to commemorate the anniversary and asks members to save the date and watch e-notes mailings for details. Meanwhile, committee chair Rita Kilmer shares the following factoids from a 1927 news clipping:
Green Bay Press-Gazette, February 7, 1927:
“905 Members Signed Up In First Music Drive”
“The success of last week’s efforts assures high-class musical talent for Green Bay…”
Cost of membership was $5.00 for the first 3-concert series.
Concerts were held in the Columbus Club Auditorium.
